With the need for improved swarf handling, CROMAR enhanced an existing 3’’ conveyor to facilitate a larger skip. This was achieved by increasing the height of the existing conveyor and adding a reciprocating conveyor to evenly distribute the swarf into the skip.
He has direct responsibility for the maintenance and development of the Business Management Systems on site, ensuring the continued accreditation to ISO9001:2008 and the promotion of initiatives to meet the requirements of ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001.
Main challenges included:
- Ensuring heavy weight supporting structure
- Adapting to existing conveyor
- Working with the building and environment
Design ensured the counter lever structure was sufficient to support the reciprocating conveyor while allowing space for a skip to be placed below. The end result reduces manual labour and improves health and safety. With swarf now being extracted effectively, manufacture can run without interruption.
