Auger Conveyor
Generally used in processing systems as a feed conveyor, suitable for handling small chipped swarf produced from a variety of machining operations

How it works
Auger/ Screw type conveyor is generally supplied complete with loading hopper. Swarf is dumped or fed into the hopper, allowing swarf to be deposited into the auger conveyor. The auger then rotates with swarf being carried up the conveyor between the flights of the helix. The swarf weight does not influence the conveyor as it may in belt conveyor, this is due to the auger boring through the swarf as opposed to carrying the swarf.
