How it works
The dependable slat conveyor manages mixed swarf with its simplistic function and proven design. Coolant and swarf chips drop onto the belt, guided by chuting. Driven by an externally mounted motor, swarf travels the length of the horizontal section until it joins the incline section. Meanwhile coolant drains to a controlled section to be reused. With the assistance of flight bars and a tunnel section, swarf is pushed up the incline section until it reaches the discharge point. Here the swarf leaves the conveyor to be caught by the bin.
The slat chip conveyors hinged belt is strong. Comprising of steel slats and thick flight bars welded at intervals, it’s robust design copes with challenging amount of swarf. The belt is carried on a hardened – hollow bearing roller chain which is made to last.
To tackle a previous challenge of conveyor jams caused by abnormal forms/amounts of swarf, a slipping clutch mechanism protects the motor drive assembly. A variable speed drive can also be selected to set different conveying speeds.
All of this is incorporated into a fully welded case to hold and guide coolant/swarf. The case is designed to suit customer requirements of; case width, case depth, conveyor length and discharge height.
